What is CA Form 4197?
Form FTB 4197 is used to report the total amount of deductions, credits, exclusions, exemptions, and other information related to certain trade or business activity for the tax year. The Franchise Tax Board (FTB) uses this data to compile tax expenditure information for the California Legislature.
How to Add Form 4197
To enter this form on your California return:
- Go to the State Taxes section.
- Click I’d like to see the forms I’ve filled out or search for a form.
- Open the drop-down for California.
- Under the Other tab, click 4197 – Information on Tax Expenditure Items.
- Fill out the form as it applies to your tax situation.
- Click Save.
