How to Deduct Vehicle Registration Fees
In order to claim the vehicle registration fee deduction, you must first be itemizing your deductions.
If this is the case, you’re allowed to deduct personal property tax, including the registration paid on a car, if the registration fee was based on the value of the car only and was imposed on an annual basis.
