Taxpayers must use Form 8938 to report specified foreign financial assets if the total value of all such assets in which they have an interest exceeds the applicable reporting threshold.

Add Form 8938

To add the Form 8938:

1. Go to Federal Taxes.
2. Click Review.
3. Click I’d like to see the forms I’ve filled out or search for a form.
4. Enter 8938 or FRGN in the search box and click on the appropriate screen to add and open the form. On 1040.com, there are three screens:
   • FRGN – Foreign Accounts (Form 8938)
   • Form 8938 – Part VI – Other Foreign Assets
   • Form 8938 – Specified Foreign Financial Assets – III & IV
5. Enter your information and click Save.
