Overview

Any special depreciation adjustments that must be added to or subtracted from your Illinois income tax return should be reported on Form IL-4562. Such adjustments may be required when Illinois tax law does not conform to federal depreciation provisions, including those related to bonus depreciation or Section 179 expense limitations.

Add Form 4562

To add the Form 4562:

1. Go to the State taxes section.
2. Select I’d like to see the forms I’ve filled out or search for a form.
3. In the drop list, select Illinois.
4. Select the Other tab.
5. Select Form 4562 – Special Depreciation to add and open the form.
6. Complete the form with your applicable information.
7. Click Save to apply changes.
