Recover Your Username or Reset Your Password

Recover Username

On the 1040.com Sign In page:

  1. Below Sign In, click the blue Need help signing in? link.
  2. Choose Forgot username.
  3. Enter the e-mail that you originally used for 1040.com and click Get username. You will receive an email with your username.

If you no longer have access to the email that was used to set up an account, select the option I no longer have access to the email on my account instead of Forgot username. Enter the requested information requested to recover your account.

Reset Password

  1. Go to the Sign In page:
  2. Below Sign In, click the blue Need help signing in? link.
  3. Choose Forgot password.
  4. Enter your username and click Get password. You will receive an email with a link to reset your password.

If you no longer have access to the email that was used to set up an account, select the option I no longer have access to the email on my account instead of Forgot username. Enter the requested information requested to recover your account.

Missing Password Reset Link

If you have already completed the forgot password process, you should receive an email within 15 minutes. If you have not yet received the email, ensure that you do not have a pop-up blocker enabled and that the email is not being sent to your junk or spam folder.

If you have waited 15 minutes, try resetting your password again. If you do not receive an email after another 15 minutes, send us an email using the Contact Us page.
