IN – Part-Year & Nonresidents Guide

Overview

This screen determines whether your Indiana return should be prepared as a part-year or nonresident return.

Note: Green highlighted fields are override fields and should only be used if the system did not correctly allocate the income automatically.

How to Add These Screens

  1. Click on the State Taxes section on the left-hand side of the screen.
  2. Click the link “I’d like to see the forms I’ve filled out or search for a form.”
  3. Use the drop list to select Indiana.
  4. Under the General tab, select and complete and each applicable screen:
    • IN – General Information
    • IN – IT-40PNR: – Income or Loss and Proration
    • IN – IT-40PNRA: Apportioned Income for Nonresidents
  5. Click Save.
