AL – Alabama State-Only Withholdings Not Reported Elsewhere

Article: 50172

Overview

Alabama state income tax withholdings that are not reported elsewhere on the federal return—such as those from Forms 1099-R, 1099-B, Schedule K-1 (Form 1065), or Schedule K-1 (Form 1120S)—may be entered directly on the Alabama state return.

If state-only withholding is entered directly on the Alabama return and cannot be reported elsewhere on the return, it will render the return ineligible for electronic filing. In such cases, the Alabama return must be submitted by paper-filing when this entry has been made in the Alabama data entry section.
