Article: 50690

What is This Screen For?

The Colorado Earned Income (COEITC) offers expanded eligibility for taxpayers under age 25 who meet specific criteria. If you’re not yet 25 and meet one of the qualifying statuses below, you may still be eligible to receive the state Earned Income Tax Credit.

Who Qualifies?

If you’re under 25 and meet one of the following, select the matching option on the screen:

  • A specified student
  • A qualified homeless youth
  • A former foster youth

If none of these apply, select Not a specified student. This confirms you’re not eligible under the expanded COEITC rules for young filers.
