Overview

This error message appears when the locality entry in Box 20 of your W-2 is a county code, rather than the required county name. Indiana requires the actual name of the county for proper processing of your state return.

To resolve this issue:

• Go to your W-2 entries and click “show options” next to Box 20.
• Update the county code to the correct county name.

Navigating to Your W-2s

To make corrections:
1. Click Federal Taxes in the left sidebar.
2. Then click Income, and select your W-2 to edit Box 20.
