# CT – Checking the Status of Your Connecticut Refund

## Overview

To check the status of your Connecticut state income tax [refund](https://kb.1040.com/tag/refund/), you have two options:

### Online

Visit [portal.ct.gov/DRS-myconneCT](https://portal.ct.gov/drs-myconnect) and select “**Where's My Refund?**”. Follow the prompts to enter the required information.

### By Phone

- Call 800-382-9463 (for callers outside the Greater Hartford area)
- Or 860-297-5962 (from anywhere)

When checking your refund status, you will need to provide:

- Your Social Security Number (SSN) (and your [spouse](https://kb.1040.com/tag/spouse/)'s SSN, if filing jointly)
- The exact amount of the refund requested.

## Refund Interest Information

If the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services (DRS) does not issue your refund within 90 days of receiving your properly completed claim (or the return's due date, whichever is later), you may be entitled to interest on your overpayment.

- Interest is calculated at a rate of two-thirds of one percent (0.667%) per month, or a fraction of a month, from the applicable starting date to the date the refund notice is issued.
- note: Interest is not paid on refunds resulting from a Pass-Through Entity (PE) [Tax Credit](https://kb.1040.com/tag/tax-credit/) claim.
