Overview

Form N-311 is used to calculate and claim the Refundable Food/Excise Tax Credit on your Hawaii individual income tax return. This credit helps offset the impact of Hawaii’s general excise tax on food purchases for qualifying low- and moderate-income residents. Because this is a refundable credit, eligible taxpayers may receive a refund even if no income tax is owed.

Add Form N-311

To add the Form N-311:

1. Go to State Taxes.
2. Click Review.
3. Click I’d like to see the forms I’ve filled out or search for a form.
4. From the drop list, select Hawaii.
5. Go to the Credits tab.
6. Locate and click on N-311 – Refundable Food/Excise Tax Credit to open the screen.
7. Enter your information and click Save.
