Overview
If you received a Schedule K-1 from a pass-through entity (such as a partnership, S corporation, or estate/trust) with Ohio-sourced income, you may need to report that income on your Ohio IT-1040 using the Ohio K-1 form.
This form allows you to detail how much of your K-1 income is taxable by Ohio and supports proper allocation, credits, or refunds related to pass-through entity taxes.
Who Should Use the Ohio K-1 Form?
You should complete the Ohio K-1 form if:
- You received a K-1 showing income, credits, or losses attributable to Ohio,
- You are a resident, nonresident, or part-year resident of Ohio, and
- The pass-through entity:
- Conducts business in Ohio, or
- Filed an IT 4708 or paid the Ohio Pass-Through Entity Tax (PTET) on your behalf.
Note: You may be eligible to claim credit for taxes paid by the entity, depending on your residency status and how the entity filed.
