Overview
California allows taxpayers to make voluntary contributions of $1 or more to designated funds.
These contributions either reduce your refund or increase your tax due.
Contributions cannot be changed once the return is filed.

- School Supplies for Homeless Children
- State Parks Protection / Parks Pass
- Protect Our Coast and Oceans
- Keep Arts in Schools
- Senior Citizen Advocacy
- Native Wildlife Rehabilitation
- Rape Kit Backlog
- Suicide Prevention
- Mental Health Crisis Prevention
Add Contributions
To add contributions:
- Go to the State taxes section.
- Select I’d like to see the forms I’ve filled out or search for a form.
- In the drop list, select California.
- Select the General tab.
- Select 540/540NR Contributions to add and open the form.
- Select the appropriate fund(s) and enter your contribution amount.
- Click Save to apply changes.
