Overview
If you are a partner in a partnership that does business in New Jersey, you may receive a Schedule NJK-1 (Form NJ-1065), which reports your share of income, loss, and other tax information allocated to you from the partnership. This information must be included in your Form NJ-1040 if you are a resident, or Form NJ-1040NR if you are a nonresident.
Who Should Complete This Form?
You should complete this section of your return if:
- You received a Schedule NJK-1 from a New Jersey partnership, and
- That K-1 reports New Jersey-source income, loss, or tax paid on your behalf, and
- You are a resident, nonresident, or part-year resident of New Jersey required to file a state return.
Note: Do not confuse this form with the federal Schedule K-1 (IRS Form 1065)—New Jersey requires state-specific reporting using Form NJ-1065 K-1.
