Overview
Your AGI is your adjusted gross income, for more information about what adjustments are made, visit the IRS. The IRS uses your prior-year AGI as a security verification when e-filing. It ensures only you (and the IRS) can access your filing data.
Due to IRS and security guidelines, we cannot disclose AGI as it is considered personally identifiable information (PII).
AGI Reject
You will get a reject if you have entered an incorrect amount for the prior year AGI when filing your return.Your prior year adjusted gross income (AGI) is found on Form 1040, line 11.
- If you filed with us last year, go to My Account and review the prior year return under My Returns.
- If you did not file with us last year, or cannot access that account, you can request a transcript from the IRS. The AGI is the last line under Adjustments to Income on an IRS transcript.
Once you have retrieved the correct AGI, click on the File tab, and then select File Now. You will be guided through the final filing process again. Update the AGI by answering yes to the question Did you file a return with the IRS last year? Complete the remaining steps to re-file your return.
- Do not use symbols, decimals, or spaces when entering your AGI.
- Do not enter any values that follow decimal points.
If you continue to get this rejection after entering the correct AGI, you will need to contact the IRS, at (800) 829-1040, for more assistance, or paper-file your return.

Use the AGI amount from the original return, even if you amended your prior-year return.
Corrected
