Foreign Employer Compensation

What Is Foreign Employer Compensation?

Unlike U.S. employers who must have an Employer Identification Number (EIN) to issue a W-2, foreign employers are not required to have an EIN. Therefore, if you received wages from a foreign employer, you should report them using the Foreign Employer Compensation screen rather than the W-2 screen.

How to Add the Foreign Employer Compensation Screen

To add this screen:

  1. Go to Federal Taxes.
  2. Click Review.
  3. Click I’d like to see the forms I’ve filled out or search for a form.
  4. Enter Foreign Employer Compensations in the search box and add the form.
  5. Enter your information and click Save.
