Overview

Use Form 4952 to calculate the allowable deduction for investment interest expense for the current tax year, as well as any portion that may be carried forward to subsequent years. The deductible amount of investment interest expense is limited to the extent of your net investment income for the year.

Add Form 4952

To add the Form 4952:

  1. Go to Federal Taxes.
  2. Click Review.
  3. Click I’d like to see the forms I’ve filled out or search for a form.
  4. Enter Form 4952 in the search box and click on Form 4952 – Investment Interest Expense Deduction to add and open the form.
  5. Enter your information and click Save.
