Schedule F

Article: 50103

Overview

Schedule F (Form 1040) is used to report farm income and expenses. If you own or operate a farm — whether it’s crops, livestock, poultry, or dairy — this is the form you’ll use to report profits and losses from those farming activities.

This form is filed with your main — typically Form 1040, 1040-SR, 1040-SS, 1040-NR, 1041, or 1065. Keep in mind that farming activity may also be subject to state and local taxes, permits, or business licensing requirements. Be sure to check with your state or local government for those rules.
