Overview

The Alabama Accountability Act (AAA) provides eligible parents with a refundable income tax credit when they transfer their child from a designated “priority” public school to an approved “qualifying” public or private school.

Reporting of Alabama Schedule AATC

To report the amount you are electing to claim for the Alabama Schedule AATC – Accountability Act Tax Credit, enter the information directly in the Alabama data entry section. Follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the State taxes section.
  2. Click on the Review tab on the left-hand side.
  3. Select I’d like to see the forms I’ve filled out or search for a form.
  4. In the drop list, select Alabama.
  5. Select the Credits tab.
  6. Select AATC Accountability Act Tax Credit Part I.
  7. Enter applicable information to the return.
  8. Click Save to apply changes.
