Overview
If you are a part-year resident, you must file Arizona Form 140PY, Part-Year Resident Personal Income Tax Return. You are a part-year resident if you did either of the following
during 2024:
- You moved to Arizona with the intent of becoming a resident.
- You moved out of Arizona with the intent of giving up your Arizona residency.
Reporting Part Year Residency Dates
If you were a part-year resident of Arizona at any point during the tax year, you will need to enter your residency dates in the Arizona data entry. Follow the steps below:
- Go to the State taxes section.
- Select I’d like to see the forms I’ve filled out or search for a form.
- In the drop list, select Arizona.
- Select the General tab.
- Select Adjustments to add and open the form.
- Enter the dates you moved in and date you moved out under Arizona Residency Dates at the top of the screen. List the state(s) you lived in during the tax year.
- Click Save to apply changes.
