Extension Process
If the federal tax extension is filed and accepted, Connecticut automatically grants you a 6-month state tax extension. An automatic extension does not extend the time to pay your tax.
Payment Options
If you owe, you must send in Form CT-1040 EXT with your tax payment. Or you may file and make payment online at the CT DOR.
