General Information
The HI – Due Diligence Statement screen is used to provide a written explanation when a required Tax ID is missing from the Hawaii state return. This may be necessary for certain credits or deductions that typically require identification numbers.
This screen is located under the Credits tab in the Hawaii section.
What to Enter
In the text box provided, clearly explain why there is no Tax ID for the individual or entity in question. This explanation supports your compliance with Hawaii’s due diligence standards.
There are no numeric fields or calculations on this screen.
How to Add the statement
- Click on the State Taxes section on the left-hand side of the screen.
- Click the link “I’d like to see the forms I’ve filled out or search for a form.”
- Use the drop list to select Hawaii.
- Under the Credits tab, select Due Diligence Statement.
- Complete the screen.
- Click Save.
