Overview
This article explains how to resolve a Maryland state e-file error related to a dependent not having health care coverage indicated on the Maryland dependent form.
- On the Dependent screen (Federal Taxes → Dependents → Dependent’s Name), near the bottom of the page, select State only information.
- In the state information section, select who is claiming the dependent (Taxpayer, Spouse, or Joint) from the drop list.
- Below that, select Maryland as the state from the drop list.
- Select Dependent has insurance.
- Click Save.
- The selection should now appear in the ‘Check here if this dependent does not have health coverage‘ entry on the MD dependent form. You may need to recalculate your PDF (File → Free Return Preview in the left sidebar) to create a new copy.
