Overview
Some taxpayers want to e-file their federal returns but either paper-file their state returns or skip them entirely.
How to Resolve This Issue
To e-file your federal return and paper-file your state return: During checkout, click No Thanks on the state return(s) listed. You can then print and mail your state return from the final PDF.
To remove all state returns: Go to the Name and Address screen. In the State Return Preparation section at the bottom, click the blue link. You can also do this under the State Taxes section.

- Go to Federal Taxes.
- Click Review.
- Click I’d like to see the forms I’ve filled out or search for a form.
- Enter Print Options in the search box and click on Print Options to add and open the form.
- In the Suppress these states drop list, select the state(s) you don’t want to include.
You only need to exclude the states that are currently in your return.
