Overview
Use this worksheet to calculate and report your Illinois Use Tax on Form IL-1040. This tax applies to purchases made outside Illinois where the correct sales tax was not paid.
You do not need to submit this worksheet with your return, but you should keep it for your records. If your total annual use tax liability exceeds $600, you must pay separately using Form ST-44.
How to Add This Screen
- Click on the State Taxes section on the left-hand side of the screen.
- Click the link “I’d like to see the forms I’ve filled out or search for a form.”
- Use the drop list to select Illinois.
- Under the General tab, select IL – 1040 Individual Income Tax Return (Use Tax Worksheet).
- Complete the screen.
- Click Save.
