KY 740NP – Income and Adjustments

The Income and Adjustments screen for the Kentucky 740NP return is used to report state-level income and adjustment amounts separately from federal values. This screen is required for part-year and nonresident filers.

The fields are prefilled with federal entries but can be overridden using the green override fields to report Kentucky-specific amounts. For married filers, amounts can be entered separately for the taxpayer and . Categories include:

  • Interest, dividends, refunds/credits
  • Alimony received
  • Capital gains/losses and other gains/losses
  • IRA and pension distributions
  • Rents, royalties, unemployment compensation
  • Gambling winnings
  • Other income (requires description)
  • Common federal adjustments (e.g. educator expenses, HSA contributions, IRA deductions, student loan interest, etc.)

How to Add the KY 740 CTP Screen

  1. Click on the State Taxes section on the left-hand side of the screen.
  2. Click the link I’d like to see the forms I’ve filled out or search for a form.
  3. Use the dropdown to select Kentucky.
  4. Under the General tab, click KY – 740 Individual Income
