KY 740NP – Income and Adjustments
The Income and Adjustments screen for the Kentucky 740NP return is used to report state-level income and adjustment amounts separately from federal values. This screen is required for part-year and nonresident filers.
The fields are prefilled with federal entries but can be overridden using the green override fields to report Kentucky-specific amounts. For married filers, amounts can be entered separately for the taxpayer and spouse. Categories include:
- Interest, dividends, refunds/credits
- Alimony received
- Capital gains/losses and other gains/losses
- IRA and pension distributions
- Rents, royalties, unemployment compensation
- Gambling winnings
- Other income (requires description)
- Common federal adjustments (e.g. educator expenses, HSA contributions, IRA deductions, student loan interest, etc.)
