To upload an optional PDF attachment to your Georgia state return, you must do so using the GA – PDF E-File Attachments form. Follow the steps below to locate and complete this form:
To add the PDF:
- Go to State Taxes.
- Click I’d like to see the forms I’ve filled out or search for a form.
- Use the drop down to expand the Georgia section.
- Click on the Other tab and select PDF E-File Attachments to add and open the form.
- Enter the required entries.
- Reference: Used for your records; this should indicate the section of the return that required the document.
- Description: A brief, clear explanation of what the document is (e.g., “Proof of Residency,” “Driver’s License,” etc.).
- File name: A short, descriptive name for the document. This is often the same as the description.
The file name must end with .PDF.
- Add your attachment.
- Click Save.
You can review or manage your attachments at any time by navigating to the My Return tab in the left sidebar and selecting Manage Attachments.
Most tax forms such as W-2s and 1099s do not need to be attached to your Georgia return. You only need to upload a PDF if:
- A specific form or prompt indicates it is required, and
- You do not see a designated upload prompt on the My Return page.
