Overview
Form 1040-SR is an IRS tax form designed specifically for taxpayers who are age 65 or older. It serves as an optional alternative to Form 1040, offering larger print for improved readability.
While visually different, Form 1040-SR uses the same schedules and instructions as Form 1040, ensuring compatibility with standard filing procedures.
How to Add Form 1040-SR to Your Tax Return
You do not need to manually add Form 1040-SR. The tax software automatically includes Form 1040-SR in your return if your date of birth indicates you are 65 or older. This information is retrieved from the Name and Address page during setup.
Once added, you’ll be able to view Form 1040-SR in the return preview.
