The Michigan Tax Year Comparison form is a helpful tool for personal record-keeping, allowing you to compare your current year’s tax data to a prior year. This form is not submitted to the state and is provided for your own reference and review.
What Is the Tax Year Comparison Form Used For?
This form allows you to:
- Track changes in your income, deductions, credits, and refund amounts across two tax years.
- Understand how life changes or policy updates have affected your tax outcomes.
- Spot inconsistencies or plan for future years more accurately
Note: The Tax Year Comparison form is informational only. It is not required by the State of Michigan and does not impact on your return filing.
How to Report
- Navigate to the State Taxes section on the left-hand side of the screen.
- Click the link: I’d like to see the forms I’ve filled out or search for a form.
- In the dropdown menu, select Michigan.
- Click on the Other tab.
- Select Tax Year Comparison to open the screen.
- Enter all applicable information.
- Click Save once complete.
